Up and Coming PLAYER Spotlight

  • CArd

    Isaiah Rider IV (2028) G

Son of former NBA player Isaiah Rider, has been on the Arizona hoops scene for a few years now, always playing one, two or three years above his age. His game is far more mature than his young age. This young man has a ton of potential. We look forward to seeing him.

  • CArd

Cameron Johnson Jr. (CJ) (2028) G

CJ brings a ton of energy on the court. His leadership and skills are remarkable for his age. We have been very impressed with his skill level and aggressive mentality on both ends of the court.

  • CArd

    CHOPS DAVIS (2028) F

This young man has shown a ton of potential. Son of former Wisconsin Milwaukee player Boo Davis, he is able to handle the ball on the perimeter as well as in the paint. We look forward to seeing his progress.

  • CArd

    Brexton Quinet (2029) G

Fireplug! Son of former San Jose St. player Brad Quinet, Brexton has a lot of heart and is tough as nails on the court. He frequently plays up and holds his own. He is also very disciplined on the court, which is impressive for his age.

Class Of 2027 POLL RESULTS

  • CArd

    Bruce Branch f

    1

The big fella is that and then some on the court as he is able to play positions 2-5 with ease. Bruce is able to score from anywhere on the court. Playing up is not for everyone and can stunt some players' development, but Bruce has been able to do it consistently and hold his own against the bigger, older boys.

  • CArd

    DJ Spencer f

    2

That spin, that spin, that spin!!! DJ's footwork around the hoop is well beyond his class. He is able to post up and create as well as attack and finish in many different ways. DJ, the son of Tuskegee Alum Fabian Spencer, is a three sport athlete and plays with the same aggression that he does on the football field. We look forward to seeing more from this young man.

  • CArd

    Myles Godfrey g

    3

Myles is an above average ball handler and can create opportunities for his teammates. He is the catalyst for his Hoop Code team and plays up regularly. We are intrigued and interested in seeing where his talents will take him.

  • CArd

    Delton Prescott g

    4

The AZ Phenoms have been consistent and some of that credit should go to the young man, Delton. Defensively he is able to think ahead and create defensive opportunities. Offensively he is able to score at key moments in the game.

  • CArd

    Izaiah rawlings g

    5

Izaiah is exciting to watch! He seems to find the ball in clutch situations as well as when his team is ready to stick a fork in their opponent. His 3 point shot is above average and his ability to slash to the basket is consistent. He is a leader for his team and deserving of recognition.

Honorable Mention -Grant Mattingly, Braxton Caruso, kyi kyi miles, Darius wabb, Kolby barnes

Class Of 2026 POLL RESULTS

  • CArd

    John Mattingly g

    1

Much debate about the #1 player in this class. However, John's recent play has put some of that debate to rest. John has played up for the Monstarz in successful fashion even as the team has played a national schedule. We have been told he will be showcasing his skills more at class of 2026 events now as well. We are looking forward to it.

  • CArd

    MALACHI HENNINGHAM F

    2

The big fella is not far away from the top spot. You see flashes of brilliance during his games that make you look forward to the future. A natural rim protector, "Tyler" can also get a bucket with ease. He has become more confident in attacking the basket off of the dribble which makes him that much more dangerous. The younger cousin of Phoenix Suns center, Deandre Ayton, this young man has the tools and resources to take his game to the next level quickly.

  • CArd

    Mason Magee g

    2

A mature guard that leads by example, Mason is a high level scoring guard for his age and grade. His ball handling allows him to separate from his defenders. He is able to get off shots in traffic and he is an above average and willing passer.

  • CArd

    Peyton Lubash g

    4

Don't let the smile fool you. This kid can do it all, from scoring to getting his teammates involved. He is more worried about the win then his points. Peyton is lightning quick and is able to keep defenders on their toes. Defensively, he may be the best guard defender in his class at the moment.

  • CArd

    Rocket Schwertley f

    5

Son of U of A player Mike Schwertley, Rocket has shown constant progression each time we see him play. Out of the current list, we feel that Rocket has the most room for growth, which is exciting. Continuing to increase quickness and footwork will go a long way in his development.

Honorable Mention- Caron perez, LJ DIAMOND, David Howard- Johnson, ROWAN PINA

Class Of 2025 POLL RESULTS

  • CArd

    Koa Peat f

    1

This was also one of our tough calls but we decided to go with Koa in this spot as the top player of his class to kick off our Tournament Series. The key factor was the combination of his size both in height and weight, combined with his agility and versatility. This is rare for kids in his age bracket. Koa can shoot the 3 at a high percentage, he has high level footwork and counters to go with his post moves. Koa comes from a bloodline of high level pro athletes  including his father (NFL) and brother (NFL) and college basketball athletes like his sister and cousins. We look forward to seeing his growth and seeing him represent Arizona well.

  • CArd

    Maper Maker f

    2

Speaking of bloodlines and lineage, Maper fits the mold as well. Maper's family is full of high level athletes at the college and pro level. Maper has the potential to be just as good if not better. With the same guidance & development as the rest of his #Makermob, which includes well known basketball aficionado Mike George, 360 hoops and forward workout guru Anthony Susnjara out of California, the sky is the limit for this kid.

Maper has a natural timing to the ball when attempting to block shots. His footwork is above average for his age and he can score at all 3 levels. He will present a problem to most in his class.

  • CArd

    Noah George sg

    3

This kid has a strap from beyond the arch. When there is a big shot to be made, he wants his name called. You have to love a kid like that. On a Zone 6 team loaded with talent, he seems to come out every game as their emotional leader. The team feeds off of his high energy and in your face defense as well. The son of NBA Agent Mike George, we are looking forward to seeing how the George, Maker pairing continues to grow over the years.

  • CArd

    Kaden/Kalek House pg

    4

A name that rings when speaking Arizona's basketball scene, the latest to start making their mark are the "House Twins" Kaden and Kalek. These two savvy guards have shown game after game that they are mature leaders that also bring a fire and passion to the game. Their ability to attack the basket and finish through contact with their size tells you all you need to know about their mental toughness. Both shoot the 3 at a high percentage and are very unselfish.

  • CArd

    JAYLON JOHNSON f

    5

Jaylon brings with him a lot of tools. The lanky forward has developed the ability to shoot 15 feet and in at a high rate and is steadily improving his shot behind the arch whenever he feels comfortable within the flow of the game. His extra ball-handling work has made him appear more comfortable on the perimeter.

Honorable Mention:  Bryce Quinet, Archie Graves, Nico Velez, Carlos Coronado, Victor Yevzerova, Tayvion Wilson, Nico Velez, Quincy Kirk, Bryce Quinet, Desean Middlebrook
